Good Kestrel binoculars

I bought the Kestrel ED binoculars. They arrived quickly, took 4 days to reach California. Optics are clear, comfortable to hold. Worked great for my birdwatching trip last weekend. No issues.

Great value on Peregrine ED

I was looking for some good binoculars but didn't want to overspend. Found the Peregrine ED binoculars on clearance here. The price was really good compared to other sites I checked. I got about 25% off, which felt like a solid deal. Free shipping was a nice bonus too, saved a few bucks there. The quality seems great for what I paid. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

Reliable for birding gear

This was my third order from Viking Optical. I've bought binoculars before, and this time I needed a tripod kit and a new binocular harness. Their selection is always good for wildlife observation gear. The tripod kit was sturdy, just like the one I saw described. Shipping was consistent, arrived in about a week again. I keep coming back because their products hold up well, and I haven't had any problems with their service. It's nice knowing what to expect when you order, no surprises.

Just wondering about payment options. Do they take PayPal or is it just credit cards?

R Rosa 1 month ago
I used PayPal last time, so yes.

Pretty sure they do. Most online stores offer it now. I paid with my Visa though.

Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to the US? I'm in New York and hoping to get a spotting scope before a trip next month.

J Julia 2 months ago
From the UK, right? Probably a week or two. Mine took about 10 days to California.

Yeah, it's not super fast since they're coming from overseas. I'd budget at least 7-14 business days, maybe a bit more to be safe with customs and stuff.

I saw something about a clearance sale on their site. Does that mean I can't return those items if I change my mind?

T Troy 1 month ago
Nah, I bought an ex-demo pair once and had to send them back cause they weren't right for me. Returns were fine, just follow their process.

You should still be able to return them, I think. Most places don't restrict returns on sale items unless it explicitly says 'final sale' or something.

Hey, thinking about grabbing some Peregrine ED binos. Are they actually waterproof? Like, if I'm out in the rain for a while birdwatching, will they be okay?

M Mia 2 months ago
Yeah, pretty sure all their main lines are. I've had my Kestrels out in proper downpours in Scotland, zero issues. They hold up.

Mine too, I got the Vistrons and dropped them in a puddle once (oops), totally fine. They seal them really well.

Are Viking Optical binoculars actually good for birdwatching? Or should I just save up for like, Zeiss or something?

T Troy 1 month ago
Totally depends on your budget. For the price, Viking are excellent. I've had my Avocets for years and they're brilliant for birding. You won't regret them.

They're a different league than Zeiss, obviously, but they're not trying to be. For what you pay, the clarity and build quality are really solid. Great entry to mid-level stuff.
